Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957 Description
This 1957 nomad is a true 60's/70's race car/gasser that retains its original decals from that time. This car also has about 90% of its original paint and original interior including the factory padded dash and original headliner. This nomad is now virtually rust free. I left everything as original as possible; replacing some floor sections as needed. All welds were butt-welded not lap welded. The areas under the exterior moldings were purposely left as is, o as not to disturb its originality, ut under the moldings there original paint and amazingly rust free. Here is a detailed list of the work done and parts replaced on the vehicle:
350 Summit motor with GM aluminum heads. Has summit stamp on the front passenger side engine pad
4 speed M-20 Muncie with 60's Hurst scattershield ( still has original Hurst decals)
3.36 Non-posi rearend
New front and rear bearings on all four corners
All new brake lines including flexible lines
New fuel line (front to back) with new sending unit and filter
Fuel tank cleaned and sealed
New U-joints
New tie rods, all joints, -frame bushings, hock absorbers
New front tires
Back tires are in excellent condition
New Holley 670 carburetor with vacuum secondary's
Complete tune up- spark plugs, ires, otor, ap, nd pertronix electronic ignition conversion kit
Original radiator cleaned- runs cool
Rebuilt water pump
Rebuilt one wire alternator
All lights work, ncluding factory back up lights, linkers and interior lights
60's slapper bars
Original jack
Seat belts installed front and back
All original glass, ut rear passenger sliding does have a crack ( will not get worse) slides back and forth smoothly
Line-lok not hooked up
Original factory spotlight
Radio delete and clock delete insert
The only thing needed to be done is a rear main seal leak. Not bad, ut eventually needs to be fixed
Summary:
This is a beautiful period correct race car/gasser from the late 60's/ early 70's in excellent running condition. This car is not a recent clone but an original gasser (see photos).
