Chevrolet Other Pickups 1955 Description

Selling my recently completed (under 600 miles) fully custom, $120k+ build, 1955 Chevrolet Second Series Pickup. This truck is the first year of the redesigned Second Series, which continues to be one of the most sought after trucks to many hot rod builders and collectors alike. Built by Abe Mena of San Diego Rod and Custom (known for his work on various Discovery Channel restoration Shows), every aspect of this '55 has been modified from the frame and suspension to the custom bodywork and interior.
a very built Small Block Chevy mated to a 700R4 transmission with a stout 10 bolt rear end, 31 spline axels and 3.73 gearing, this truck not only gets up and goes but is also relaxed on longer freeway cruises. This truck was built with comfort in mind; having power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, power big window conversion (removed wing windows in doors) and Vintage Air AC! The chassis features air bag suspension on all four corners; the rear of the frame has been back halfed and Z'd with a completely custom one off triangulated 3-link set up and Mustang II front end and new power steering rack. Truck was completely re-wired with a modern fuse panel properly labeled and neatly hidden under the dash.
Perfectly tucked is a heavily modified 1961 Buick Electra front bumper accompanied by the deletion of the front running lights. All of the sheet metal was formed to create a one-off molded front valance and grill. To further add to this custom build and complete the profile of the truck is the addition of a windshield visor. In the rear you will find a hand made metal roll pan. All paint and bodywork needed was completed by Nick Battaglia of Loose Cannon Customs. Rounding out the exterior styling of this truck sits tucked 20" Centerline Smoothies and low profile rubber.
Inside, you will find a late-model GMC Sierra front bench seat with 2-Tone diamond stitched to match the suede door panels, smoothed suede dash, and diamond stitched headliner. All switches controlling every aspect of the vehicle are symmetrically mounted under the dash along with the AC vents and controls with an electronically controlled parking brake. Under the seat you will find the stereo input/controls and behind the seat is an upholstered glove box and sub/amp enclosure with matching stereo kick panels under the dash. New Autometer gauges and bezel are combined with the Lokar shifter, Lokar matching pedals, and chrome steering column.
This doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the parts and 4+ years of labor that have gone into the construction of the vehicle. The meticulous work and attention to detail on this build sets this 1955 Second Series Pickup apart from anything you will find on the market. This truck is a MUST SEE and I can go into more detail of everything that has been completed on the car.
