Chevrolet Corvette 1966 Description

Colors and Customs has been in the Corvette business for 38 years and have sold many Corvettes. Please take the time to review and consider this car as a great investment.

We are selling this 1966 Corvette Coupe and including all the information we have on it in this ad.We have acquired this vehicle from the previous owner whom passed and we are not clear of it's history.Any information that we fail to provide in this ad we will try to get answers for and respond.

With the exception of the front bumper assembly, the vehicle is complete. All of the chrome and stainless are in good condition, however there are some chips in the rear bumper chrome. The bumpers are solid and in otherwise good shape. The wheel opening inner edges have been shaved to provide clearance for the larger tires, yet the stock lines have been maintained. There appears to be a couple of rivet pops in the body by the left headlamp. They are left-over results of an aged restoration job done several years ago. They are rather minor in nature, yet visible. The left pillar post shows some minor rust inside the door area and is very repairable. The driver's seat bottom is torn and needs replacement.

The frame is in good condition and it is our understanding that there was about $3000 spent on the brake system. We have driven the car about 50 miles and it performed very well. The engine with the side exhausts that look new, sounds terrific and runs strong. The casting number on the block is 3858180 indicating that it is the correct motor year wise and we have no reason to believe that it isn't the original 327 cu. in. motor for the car. It is very apparent that the engine has been re-camed, giving it a throaty sound. We have more detail on work done to the engine that was documented by owner prior to his passing. We know the engine was completely overhauled and bored 0.030.

The previous owner was an engine builder and worked on this car, fixing everything mechanical that needed attention. We know the car has been sitting for a long time and should probably have new valve seals installed. They do get dry and hard with time. (not a big job and we can offer that service) The headlamp assemblies work very well.We believe they have been overhauled because in time they have been known to stall and work slowly or maybe not at all, due to age.

They aren't making these babies anymore and this one has all that's needed to be a good one.It is an excellent candidate for a restoration project or can be driven and enjoyed just the way it is. A complete restoration of this vehicle would put it in the $75K to $80K range.
