Ford F-100 1961 Description
Check out this classic survivor, 1961 F100 Unibody Shortbed "Rare" Big Back Window".. This is a Factory V8 292 Y-Block Truck with 60,000 original miles.. This truck still has most of the original paint on it with a few touchups.I have tried to keep the original look of this truck but added some hidden modern features that make it more of a pleasure to drive. I replaced the granny low manual with a Brand New Monster Transmission AOD overdrive. I used an adapter from Bendtsen's Transmission Adapters so that it fits correctly with no issues. The adapter kit alone is almost $1000 and came with a new hi torque starter and machined mounts. I took out the old Dana 44 and put in a completely rebuilt 1996 8.8 Ford Explorer Disc brake rear with a 3:55 gear. The axle tubes on these were the weak points so they are tig welded. The old Y-Block runs like a champ, no smoke holds strong oil pressure.
Front suspension is all new. I sent the original axle to Nostalgia Sid in OK to have it dropped 2.5" and re bushed. I added a Speedway Front disc brake kit with all the goodies so the truck has four wheel disc brakes. New upgraded master cylinder with proportioning valve added to balance them out.
The truck has been lowered about 5" from stock to take out the farm truck look and give it a more modern look. I took out the spring overloads on front and back. The rear forward spring hanger was relocated up 3" to balance out the drop. You still get the strength of a stack of 6 springs without the worry of a monoleaf breaking. I setup the pinion angle with new spring shackles and pads. Driveshaft is a brand new unit custom made from Denny's Driveshaft.
I will just list out some of the other items that were done when I converted this truck

Wheel Vintiques Gennie wheels with new Coker Classic Whitewalls, painted Rangoon Red
Lokar trans mount shifter with Lokar E-Brake kit teflon cables and all

I tried to represent this truck as best I could, I have been building cars most of my life and am pretty particular on the "Right" way to build something. You can check out my Facebook Page search "Ayres Automotive Attitudes" there is an album on some of the build of this truck. The truck does have dents and dings as a 56 year old vehicle would but it is a "Solid" truck and with some massaging bodywork and new paint it could be a $30,000 truck. Its a cool truck and looks better than those junk "Patina" monsters out there that people are asking $30,000 for. You can drive this truck 60-65 mph comfortably. I think you will find my reserve is VERY reasonable. Go look at the prices of these parts ALONE. I want to build a later model truck and this one was just way too nice to go any farther with.
Please email me if you have any questions or are serious buyers I dont want any tire kickers or lookie loo's. Email me your phone number and I will respond ASAP I do not like to have phone number out there. I am not a dealer trying to sell you another vehicle.
Clean and Clear Kansas Title. I am actually the third owner
