[email protected]. or CALL (484) 241-7040. I’LL EMAIL ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OF THIS BEAUTIFUL TRUCK TO SERIOUSLY INTERESTED PARTIES. This is a total frame-off restoration of a completely RUST-FREE Georgia truck with original (rebuilt) engine and 42, 00 miles*. Unbelievably well-equipped truck in a striking (original) color combination. It is virtually perfect, with only a scant few minuscule and inconsequential flaws. If I were judging it at a high-end show, I’d honestly give it at LEAST a 93 out of 100. It could easily BE a 100-point truck with very minimal effort or cost, but it is certainly ready to show and enjoy as it is. I will be delighted to describe every nuance over the phone for serious parties.Double-click on the first photo. The completely rust-free frame has been fully cleaned, de-greased, prepped and properly re-painted in a satin black finish. The same goes for the 100% original body, painted in pieces, to the original factory “Tampico Yellow / Wimbledon White. This truck was completely disassembled down to a bare frame before painting. The engine was sent to a well-respected racing engine builder for refurbishing to all stock specs. Same for the transmission. Both exhaust manifolds were replaced at that time, as well. The braking system, suspension and steering have all been gone over and are almost completely new. (See list below) Every piece of trim was hand-polished and re-installed with new hardware. This truck runs GREAT! Only a few pieces of trim are reproduction. There is ZERO body filler in this truck! I purchased an “Elite Marti Report” for this truck, however, it won’t be delivered for several more weeks. I do already know (from the preliminary report) that there were only 219 Tampico Yellow / Wimbledon White F-100’s built in ‘72, among 383, 00 total trucks. I believe the “Marti Report” will narrow this truck down to “1 of 1”. To say this truck is “rare” would be an understatement! The Marti Report will be framed and include a reproduction window sticker and certification card. The original owner’s manual and 1972 sales brochure are also included. The following are all BRAND NEW: Original engine / transmission professionally refurbished King pins Radius arm bushings Center link Tie-rods Coil springs Front-end alignment Wheel cylinders Brakes All three brake hoses Power steering hoses Air conditioning hoses Brake drums All three u-joints Carrier bearing (center support bearing) on driveshaft Both exhaust manifolds Complete dual exhaust system (MAGNAFLOW duals) Battery and cables Voltage regulator All FIVE tires (P235-75-15” radial whitewalls) Window “anti-rattle” felt liners ALL weather stripping All tune-up parts, fluids and filters……..plus a lot I’m surely forgetting. The interior is nearly flawless, as well, and very original. The seat has been reupholstered with replacement fabric. The OEM-style carpet is new. The original dash pad (NO CRACKS!) and headliner still look literally brand new. The perfect full-length Ford floor mat is still with the truck. The yellow paint on the metal surfaces of the interior is still original and very nice. The ONLY flaw in the interior would be in the outer rim of the steering wheel at the ends of the two spokes, where two cracks are located. Not bad enough to replace it, however, a new one is available in reproduction from various outlets. The windshield is a BRAND NEW-old stock genuine Ford piece. All other glass is original to the truck and perfect. Everything still works inside the truck, which is amazing. The turn signals properly cancel. The door dome light switches still function. The door hinge springs are still intact. The cargo lamp works. Even the air conditioning still operates. (The A/C has not been retro-fitted to the R134A refridgerant and does need charging, but, the system has been tested and it works.) The only “non-stock” items on the truck are: The dual exhaust, radial tires and the 1972 Ford LTD hood emblem. The emblem was a dealer-installed piece, requested by the original owner. (I thought it was a really cool touch, so I ordered a brand new reproduction piece to replace the original.) I cannot imagine you finding a nicer, lower mileage or more original ‘72 F-100 than this one, especially with the most-sought-after 390 V-8 and the rare color combination. Fewer were XLT long beds and fewer, still, had this option combination. The original broadcast sheet was still tucked in the webbing on the back of the seat, which I had laminated. The original identifier and production plant (Canada) decals are still intact in the driver’s door jam. There are some “decent” classic trucks on the market……but few as nice as this one. Absolutely everything was done as right as I could do it and not one dime was spared in the build. This truck is truly beautiful. If you’re a serious collector looking to add a nice truck, this is the one for you. If you’ve always wanted to own the type of vehicle which is featured on a Friday or Saturday at one of the big auction houses, but without spending a fortune, you‘re looking at one right here! I am absolutely certain you couldn’t build one as nice for what it will take to buy this one. Here is the detailed history of this truck as told to me by the previous owner: The original owner purchased it at Prater Ford in Calhoun, Georgia, back in 1972. He drove it for several years, then parked it in the barn, where it sat for around 30 years, virtually untouched. (I believe the original owner passed away.) The truck was then purchased from the family by the gentleman I got it from. It again sat for a few years in his garage. The truck was put up for sale in 2013, when I purchased it and transported it to my home here in eastern Pennsylvania. The man I purchased it from is a true Southern gentlemen. He was all too happy to spend time talking with me about the truck. One other interesting side note: This truck is one of the last ever built of this “bump” body style. It has a very late production date (May 1972). The body style changed for ‘73 and the shut-down for re-tooling always happened at the end of June of a particular model year, so the next model year could be available in September. Shortly after I bought it, I started the restoration. When I got it, it had incorrect wheel covers and the paint was badly faded and worn through in spots, but the body was arrow-straight and rust-free. There was a tear in the seat and it had some fluid leaks. The tires were badly dry-rotted. It ran well, but smoked a little. It was the quintessential “barn find”. (Included here is a picture of exactly what it looked like when I got it. Although it looks tan in color in the pic, due to a cheap camera and a very grey day, it‘s always been yellow.) The truck was just too nice, too well-equipped and too original not to bring back to its former glory, so I went a little overboard on the build…but I wanted it done right. The final product, I think you’ll agree, is just that. DONE RIGHT. Without the original investment of the actual purchase and transport, I have over $24, 00 in the restoration (WITHOUT labor). Adding up my total investment in dollars and time, I’ll lose out on this truck……but this was a labor of love. I’ve decided that this truck collecting dust in my garage doesn’t make much sense, so, I’m offering it for sale to someone who will enjoy it and show it off, as it deserves to be. For me, it was more about “rescuing” the truck and doing the restoration. All the information contained herein was gleaned from a lengthy conversation with the previous owner and from what various shops did on my behalf, as well as what I, personally, did to the truck. After dismantling the engine, the rebuilder called me and told me the mileage is absolutely accurate and he couldn’t believe how nice the engine was inside prior to tear-down. The transmission builder said the very same. *The Georgia State DMV inadvertently tagged the mileage as “exempt”, simply because of the age of the vehicle, which automatically translated to the PA title. (They never asked the previous owner before doing so.) I attempted to have it changed to “actual”, however, I was told this could not be done after the fact. Again, the truck speaks for itself and the mileage reading of 42, 00(+) is accurate. Please view my 100% positive eBay feedback and the personal remarks left by buyers of my vehicles.
